  1. Dispensational Truth- God's Plan of the Ages

The Consequences of the Old Covenant • Disobedience would have consequences (Deut 27-28) • As a result, Israel has been “left desolate” (Matt 23:37-38) until they are ready to welcome their King (Matt 23:39) • When that occurs it will be a literal, earthly kingdom as promised and prophesied (Zechariah 14:4) • Meanwhile, the Abrahamic covenant has reached beyond Israel (Gal 3:8-9)

  3. THE DISPENSATION OF GRACETEXT: Eph 2:8-9 • In the dispensation of Grace, God reveals three things which have always been true in His dealings with men, but which are now made clear. The three things are:

  4. I. The Test • A. None—Titus 3:5

  5. II. The Result • A. A matter of personal choice and responsibility... (Luke 23:39-43) • B. There is no guaranteed “window of opportunity” (Heb 4:7; 9:27) and there is but one way (Heb 11:6; John 14:6)

  6. III. The Provision • A. As relates to man—Reconciliation (Col 1:20-22) • B. As relates to sin—Redemption (Rom 3:24) • C. As relates to God—Propitiation (Rom 3:25) “Christ completely satisfied the just demands of a holy God for judgment on sin by His death.”

  7. D. The reception of this gift is not based upon any pre-existing condition...national background, parental commitment, church membership, but merely an act of God’s grace for all men, not just a select group of people (John 3:16; Acts 15:14) • E. This is not related to Israel, who has been set aside (Rom 11:1ff), but is an “intercollation” (not directly related to what precedes or follows it) in which God is building the church (Eph 3:5,9)

  8. IV. And so the Test is...that whosoever will may come

  9. V. And the Result is ...that still some refuse...
