Overview • Who – my immediate and extended family • Why – to take an existing community of collaborators and provide them with an online forum for sharing stories and photos • What – content: text and photos from client • What – resources: WordPress software and other development/planning tools • How – using an existing WordPress Theme, then modifying both CSS and php

  4. Why? • “The goal for the site would be to permit family members to easily share photos, news and written memories about their common history. ”

  5. What? • Content: • A stock of initial photos and stories from a family history project. • I chunked that content into blog posts that incorporated both photos/stories together.

  12. Finding a WordPress Theme… • WordPress “Theme” is a collection of CSS and php files that control organization, design and functionality of site • All of the contenders for theme here:

  15. My WordPress Theme • I altered CSS files, and the sidebar, header and other programming scripts to change design and functionality
