  2. History • May 2000 • Decisions were made regarding the cataloging of full text electronic journals • Staff was transferred to accomplish the task Gumberg Library

  3. History • October 2000 • The process is developed • Another wrinkle is added to the fabric: Cross reference by adding the url to any matching print records already in DuCat Gumberg Library

  4. History • Two staff members working for two years cataloged approximately 3,700 • SFX presented their product and mentioned Marc records • Our interest was roused Gumberg Library

  5. History • Questions: • What would the SFX Marc records look like? • Could we find a way to recreate the model our patrons were accustomed to? • Who would do this? Gumberg Library

  6. History • First download: November 22nd, 2003 • Second download: March 26th, 2004 • Third download: June 15th, 2004 – to be loaded Gumberg Library

  7. The Present • MarcIT service to the Rescue • 5500 records exported from SFX • Secure FTP to get files from ASP site • MarcEdit to modify records • Load records twice in SIRSI – to remove duplicate URLs Gumberg Library
