  2. SOLAR SYSTEM The Solar System consists of the SUN and eight planets.

  3. A planet is a body with a spherical shape. The planets orbit the Sun. The Sun isn’t a planet, it’s a star. How many planets are there?

  4. The planets are numbered in the order of their distance from the Sun. These are their names: Which planet is near the Sun? Which is far the Sun?

  5. Which is the biggest planet in the Solar System? And the smallest?

  6. Look for page 63.

  7. Cut out the planets and the Sun. Colour them on the back.

  8. Glue each piece to a barbecue stick

  9. When all the planets are finished, make holes in the card and put the sticks through the holes to make the sculpture. Put the Sun in the centre. While you are working, you can listen to GUSTAV HOLST play: “The Planets”
