  2. Philip Chism, a freshman at Danvers High School, was charged as an adult with first-degree murder. He was ordered held without bail • He just moved here from Tennessee, went to a new school • His mother grew up in Peabody, MA • He had a spot on the junior varsity soccer team. • Everyone said that they never saw it coming, he was a quiet boy with a few friends.

  3. He was reported missing, his friend and others got their first hint that something had gone wrong on the Tuesday Colleen Ritzer was murdered, when Chism didn't show up for soccer practice. The team searched for him after seeing texts that he was missing. • Before he went missing the murder of Colleen Ritzer happened.

He killed her with a box cutter that was brought into school. • Chism put her body into a recycling bin, rolled it outside, then dumped her body about 20 feet into woods behind Danvers High School. • The body was not buried or covered, it was just left there and he put leaves to cover her body. • After he changed his clothes, he went to a Wendy's fast food restaurant and went to see a movie. • He stole her credit cards and identification. • He was then caught walking along Route 1 in neighboring Topsfield. • He smashed her phone and threw them behind the fence at Hollywood hits.

Colleen Ritzer • Colleen Ritzer was 24 year old math teacher. • Ritzer was reported missing at about 11:20 p.m. when she didn't return home. • Was brutally killed on the second floor bathroom. • The day of the murder, she had asked Phil to stay after, one of the students had said because he instead of taking notes he was drawing. • Motive is still unknown
