  2. What is Smart? • Smart monitors development allowed in Planning Permissions • Should not be confused with Development Management systems which manage Planning Applications

  3. What is a report? • Dictionary.com says this of ‘report’: • Computers: output, esp. printed, containing organised information. • Creates intelligence from data

  4. What can reporting be used for? • Core Output Indicators (COIs) • Housing Flows Returns (HFRs) • Ad hoc queries • Quality Controlling data • Present data as graphics

  5. Common monitoring requirements • Suite of ‘Core’ reports • Consistency of reporting • But • Changes required for some drop down lists • ‘Key’ fields must be completed • Reporting in Smart is flexible to cope with changing requirements
