  1. Welcome! Loriann Groden Lgroden@crsd.org AP Calculus BC, Period 1, room 272 Please sign in! Take a look around the room at all of our students’ goals for the year!

  2. Course Overview • Limits, Derivatives, Higher-Order Derivatives and Graphing, Integrals, Differential Equations, Volume of Solids of Revolution, Series, Parametric Equations, Polar Equations, Vectors…and much more! • Approximately 2 Semesters of College Calculus • AP Exam Tuesday, May 9, 8AM • Students will need a graphing calculator & binder every day • Homework is assigned every night and checked occasionally • Students do not need to bring their book to school

Expectations • Be on time • Be prepared • Be nice • Try your best • Do what you need to do in order to succeed • Contribute to the class • Seek help ANY TIME you need it (Clinic is Tuesday & Thursday in 272) • Students are expected to make up assessments on the next clinic day • Students are responsible for all missed work (See Missing Work Board!)

  4. Grading • Points System • Homework checks • Final Exam (If not exempt! Also, no midterm ) *Final exam cannot be brought home, as it is a district exam. • AP Review Packets • Average Updates: Every test or quiz AND on the Parent Portal (HAC) • Tests and quizzes may be taken home once all students have taken them and may also be reviewed any time at clinic.

AP Review • AP level questions incorporated in HW and assessments regularly • AP exam review packets throughout the year • AP review assignments may be collected, graded, and/or quizzed on. • AP review book (Best & Lux…details to follow!) • After school AP review sessions • Full length AP practice exam

  6. How do you get that 5?? • You EARN it! • Do your homework every day, and ask questions when you have them. • Use the chapter review worksheets carefully, and utilize my online solutions to help you if you get stuck (but always try to do it yourself first!) • Do every AP review packet carefully, and really hunker down in March, April, and May. • Use the various links on my website as resources for solution guides & extra practice • If you work hard, keep up with your homework, and do all review carefully and thoroughly, you will be well prepared for the AP Calculus exam.
