  2. Types Of Repatriation • INBOUND REPATRIATION • OUTBOUND REPATRIATION

INBOUND REPATRIATION: IF DEATH OCCURS OVERSEAS • If a death occurs in a foreign country, a Death Certificate must be obtained from that country • The Singapore Embassy/ Representative office in that country will issue the repatriation documents • A Consignor (usually a funeral home in the exporting country) will assist in the repatriation arrangements • ALL SAINTS can be appointed the Consignee in Singapore to receive the remains and to provide all the subsequent arrangements and services • Call ALL SAINTS at anytime for assistance.

SINGAPORE CITIZENS / PERMANENT RESIDENTS • For Cremation or Burial The body of a Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident may be brought back to Singapore for cremation or burial.However, a Coffin (Import) Permit is required to import a body into Singapore. Death Registration ​ The death will also have to be reported to Singapore 's Registry of Births & Deaths, Citizen Centre, 3rd Storey, ICA Building personally by the next-of-kin of the deceased.

FOREIGN NATIONALS For Cremation ​ • Foreigners are allowed to be imported into Singapore for cremation. • A Permit to Cremate will also be issued together with the Coffin (Import) Permit.​ For Burial ​ • Foreigners are allowed to be imported into Singapore for burial only if the immediate next-of-kin is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident. • A Coffin (Import) Permit is required to import a body into Singapore.

Outbound EXPORTING A BODY TO THE HOME COUNTRY We provide international standard embalming and repatriation services out of Singapore. ​You may contact a Funeral Director from All Saints Bereavement Care to assist you with the steps below: PROCEDURE Once in possession of a Death Certificate a non-Singaporean should register the death with their respective Embassy or High Commission. Repatriation of a body to a home country requires the help of the relevant local embassy or consulate.
