  7. Overview of Batch Rx Processing Batch Rx Processing Conditions for Accessing the BPE Option Batch Processing Workflow

Batch Rx Processing • The new option Batch Prescription Entry (BPE) enables authorized users to create a batch of patients and enter prescriptions for all patients in that batch simultaneously. • BPE enables authorized users to perform activities on the prescriptions in one window. • System-generated identifiers are assigned to these patient batches. • New patient batch reports are provided.

  9. Batch Rx Processing (cont.) • If a batch is not manually inactivated, it will be inactivated automatically 60 days after it was last modified. • A batch is purged from the file 30 days after it is inactivated.

  10. Conditions for Accessing the BPE Option • One pharmacy site must be defined as the “Default for Patient Batches” for the division. • Only one pharmacy site can be assigned as the default per division. • Users must be assigned with the PSO PATIENT BATCH security key. • The BPE option can be accessed from any pharmacy site in the division (not just from the default site).
