  12. Feasibility Studies Germany MLV: Intermodal Transport from Central Germany to CEE – Central Axis PEC2 Berlin - Moscow Poland - Cross-border gas pipeline for improving logistics in CEE SCHP CZ: Intermodal Transport in Central and Eastern Europe Slovakia: Transnational Railway Transport from Slovakia to Central Europe Italy: Intermodal Centers in Novara with connection to Eastern Europe – Corridor 5 Hungary: Transnational Railway Transport - Focus on Connection Hungary to Russia – Corridor 5 AT: Evaluation of the Danube Axis as multimodal transportation corridor for chemical industry Usti: Waterway Transport Elbe River

  13. Definition of freight flows from Feasibility Study on PEC II Evaluation of the long-term shifting potential road to rail (in t, 2025) Sankt Petersburg 500.052 t 124.312 t 312 t Nizhnij Nowgorod 1.778.502 t Moskau 2.402.867 t 935 t 243.149 t 4.307.793 t Kiew 1.660.661 t • Expected increase of potentials in export (long-term perspective) • To Russia/Ukraine up to 350% • To Poland and Belorus up to 150% total 330%

  14. Improvement of framework conditions for Chemical transport alongside Pan European corridor 5

  15. Hungary: Transnational Railway Transport - Focus on Connection Hungary to Russia – Corridor 5 • ChemLog Cluster Hungary North-East + Záhony Region • Wagon identification and location • Quality of wagons: managing maintenance and technical issues • Security and safety issues with mobile solutions

  16. Poland - Cross-border gas pipeline for improving logistics in CEE Interconnector – it is a pipeline connection between two countries enabling gas transmission in both directions. Currently on the Polish territory are several operated pipelines connecting national gas systems of Poland and neighbouring countries, but none of them is an interconnector, because theyprovide gas transport only in one direction. New interconnector is urgently needed !

  17. Transnational Railway Transport from Slovakia to Central Europe 18

  18. Děčín water dam • improvement of navigability conditions on Elbe • documentation was presented to the Ministry of Environment on 24/8/2010 • estimated overall construction costs – approx. 191 mil. EUR Fig. Current situation and visualization of Děčín water dam

  19. Inland Waterway – Existing Infrastructure • Length of Danube Waterway in Austria : ca. 350 (total: 3500 km) • Total slope: 155 m (nine hydorelectric power plants) • Fluctuation of water level: 7 m (range), 10 watergates • Share of transport volume of CI: 1% - 100,000 t Source: via donau, 2009

  20. Cooperation with Russia • Workshop in Moscow with Russian Stakeholders on 21/22 June to initiate discussion and exchange of experience on topics: • Russian Chemist Union: Responsible Care, Emergency Response Systems • LSP: Subsequent Transport, Bundling Transport, Terminal Development, SQAS, rail tariffs, Custom Union • Russian Logistics Association: Training and Qualification, policy development for infrastructure, dissemination information • Moscow Region: Infrastructure Development, Restrictions for dangerous goods in Moscow • Invitation of Russian Stakeholders to come to next ChemLog Meetings – special programme with site visit • Further discussion of concrete topics and forms of cooperation
