Filotea” defending women’s rights to educational access. • In 1690 it was published-without her consent. • The church’s reaction was to tell Sor Juana to focus on her religious studies instead of secular studies. • To which Sor Juana famously responded, “One can perfectly well philosophize while cooking supper.”
