  1. ADVANCING THE KINGDOM OF GOD

  2. Reading: Isa 25:1- 9 NIV O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago. You have made the city a heap of rubble, the fortified town a ruin, the foreigners' stronghold a city no more; it will never be rebuilt. Therefore strong peoples will honor you; cities of ruthless nations will revere you.

  3. You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall and like the heat of the desert. You silence the uproar of foreigners; as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is stilled. On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine__ the best of meats and the finest of wines.

  4. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. In that day they will say, "Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."

  5. We are living in troubled times. Isaiah reminds us of the plans God has for the end times which will advance His Kingdom.

  6. ISAIAH’S VISION OF GOD’S VICTORY. Isa 25:1 NIV O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago. God is a God Who plans. Isaiah’s vision stretches into eternity past.

  7. God is a God who plans. He is a wise God. Isa 46:9-10 NIV Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. There are 3 things I know….

  8. God chose to redeem mankind. Eph 1:3-6 NIV Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

  9. Jesus redeemed us with His own blood. He loves and accepts us unconditionally. 2 Tim 1:9 NIV ….who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time…

  10. God the Holy Spirit pledged to play His part. 2 Thess. 2:13-14 NIV But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  11. ISAIAH’S GLIMPSE INTO ETERNITY FUTURE. Isa 25:6-8 NIV On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine, the best of meats and the finest of wines. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.

  12. Joel 2:27-32 NIV Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the LORD your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed. 'And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

  13. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem therewill be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls.

  14. God’s plans for the end times are bigger than we can imagine. Isa 25:7 NIV On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; This shroud is one of unbelief that covers many nations today.

  15. Even the “strong” people will worship God. • Those made strong by Him. • Those who oppose Him in strength 2 Pet 3:9 KJV The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

  16. John 3:16 NIV "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. God will bring multitudes into His kingdom. His triumph is sure.

  18. HOW CAN WE ADVANCE THE KINGDOM RIGHT NOW? It has to start with you and your life. Are you in the Kingdom of God? Get aggressive with sin. Resist the devil Be empowered by the Holy Spirit Let your life shine for Jesus.

  19. Rom 14:17 NIV For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
