  2. Permit andAdministrative Order • 1998 – Initial assessment of the process by DEP and EPA. • 2002 – DEP issued the NPDES permit and Administrative Order. This combination required the manufacturing upgrades and if water quality standards in Rice Creek could not be achieved then the pipeline to the St. Johns River was required to be constructed. • Today – all process improvement completed but water quality standards in Rice Creek have not been achieved. GP is authorized and required to relocated the facility’s discharge.

  3. 40 percent reduction in process water volume • 75 percent reduction in phosphorous • 59 percent reduction in nitrogen • 77 percent reduction in effluent color • 54 percent reduction in conductivity • 90 percent reduction in groundwater usage.

  4. Greenovative Design and the St. Johns Riverkeeper continue to reference available alternate technologies that they claim would enable GP to meet water quality standards in Rice Creek. But no specific technology has been presented that has the ability to meet the standards required. • GP is committed to meeting our obligations in the AO. It is time to bring certainty to the Palatka Mill, our community and businesses in Florida.
