  2. Stage One • The eggs are laid on a particular plant. • The adult butterfly lays the eggs. • The eggs color is very clear. • They are oval. • The eggs are so tiny that a human eye can only see a dot.

  3. Stage Two • The second stage is the larva. • The larva is like a caterpiller. • The larva eats the plant. • The color is mostly black and yellow. • The size is just about one inch.

  4. Stage Three • The third stage is the pupa. • It can also be a chrysalis. • The pupa color is brown. • It can also be sort of gray but mostly brown. • The size is about one inch and a half.

  5. Stage Four • The fourth stage is the butterfly. • It comes out of the pupa. • It lays the eggs. • The diamiter is also about one inch and a half. • The circumfronce is about six inches.
