    1. Marine Plastic Pollution Research and Control Act of 1987 This is an national Act which has implemented the discharge of plastics, including synthetic ropes, fishing nets, plastic bottles, biodegradable plastics, etc. into the water is prohibited.

    2. This Legislation affects our ocean waters cleanliness and safety of marine life. Therefore it is regulated and enforced by certain port states, which has recently proven to not be affective. Therefore, certain officials are brainstorming better methods to help keep this law properly enforced.
