  1. Preparing Your Schedule 14-159th Grade Fill out your schedule sheets right now! Get parent/guardian and teacher’s signatures, then hand them to your teacher to send to East (we’d like them NO later than December 16)

  2. Required for 9th GradeMinimum 6 Credits Total English Language Arts – note the two options. Talk with your teacher and parents if you are not sure. Science – note the two options. Students who choose Bio-Physical must have already successfully completed Algebra 1 when entering high school. Social Studies – all students should take Civics unless special circumstances. Math – see options on back of sheet Freshmen PE and Health are required

Teacher Signatures! • Talk with your English teacher about what course is best for you – Have them sign your sheet if you choose 1010! • Talk with your Math teacher about what course is best for you – Have them sign your sheet! • Talk with your Science teacher about what course is best for you – Have them sign your sheet if you choose 4050!

  4. Electives for 9th Grade See the choices on the back of your sheet Take some time looking at options! Keep in mind a Fine Arts (Art, Music, Theatre) credit is needed for graduation. Must take a minimum of 6 credits (Take 6 ½ or 7 if you don’t want study halls) If you are struggling, only take 6 credits! Utilize a study hall to stay caught up.

  7. Course Planning website For example, clicking on “Mathematics” shows: Shows prerequisites and gives more information!

Have Questions? • Spend some time looking at the Course Planning Guide – Once your schedule is set, it is difficult to make changes! • Special Situations/ Not sure what to do? – Please make an appointment with your guidance counselor! • Turn sheets in ASAP once you and your parents have signed them!
