  2. Opening Prayer Heavenly Father, Thank you for the gift of the Good News. Help us to see you, to know you and to believe in you today and Throughout our lives. May we open our hearts and continue to share the Good News with all we encounter. Help us to always know you are with us, Guiding us to glory in our future. Lead us Lord to joy in the coming of your Son, Jesus. Amen.

  3. The Harvest Is Great, the Labourers Few Matthew 9:35-38 A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew. Glory to you, O Lord. Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and curing every disease and every sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’ The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

  4. Prayer of the Faithful Response: Let us continue to spread the Good News • For the church: that it always be a living witness of the goodness of God. United in faith, we pray to the Lord, Let us continue to spread the Good News • For refugees in Canada: may the Lord bring comfort, acceptance and love as they embark in a new chapter of their lives. United in faith, we pray to the Lord, Let us continue to spread the Good News • For students across the province of Ontario: that our united celebration of Mass this day, strengthen the values and beliefs we share in common with our brothers and sisters. United in faith, we pray to the Lord, Let us continue to spread the Good News • For today’s youth: that we may be guided to learn and grow in our journey of faith. United in faith, we pray to the Lord, Let us continue to spread the Good News • For Catholic education: that it continue to be a faithful and constant reminder of God’s deep love for us. United in faith, we pray to the Lord, Let us continue to spread the Good News

  5. Closing Prayer Thank you for our community of faith and for the educators who guide us through your teachings. Lord, thank you for giving us the opportunity to explore our faith, not only in school, but in our parish community. Through you, we are capable to share the Good News. Oh Lord, we ask that you keep us in your thoughts and bring us closer to you through your teachings this Catholic Education Week. We make this prayer in your name. Amen.
