  2. Role of Supervisor • Supervisor to login in ParcelNet software • Perform the Day begin • Allocate the job among PSAs. • He would assign the work • among PSAs for mail agency / bag receipt desk, bag opening desk, sorting, bag closing desk and bag despatch desk. • among MTS officials.

  3. Day begin by Supervisor

  4. Parcel Bag • A parcel bag may contain : • Ordinary registered parcels, value payable parcels, • Insured bags containing single insured parcel or insured VP Parcel. • Business Parcels • EVP & BPCOD Parcel • Second class Registered packets

  5. Receipt of parcel bags Scan the bag barcode here

  6. Opening of parcel bags Scan the article barcode here

  7. Opening of insured bags • If insured bag is received, carefully it is opened and the weight, condition of the bag etc are checked. • If INS articles are received, • SA at Bag Opening Desk transfer them physically and through software to Supervisor • Supervisor acknowledge in the software • Check with the entries, weigh the article and note the ascertained weight in the Parcel List. • If there is difference in weight, Supervisor ensures further action

  11. Closing of insured bags • If INS articles are there for closing • Supervisor transfer INS articles physically and through software to the SA at Bag Closing Desk • SA Acknowledge through software

  13. Parcel List • After completion of scanning of articles & bag is closed in the software, the parcel list is generated

  14. Closing of parcel bags • The articles may be checked with the entries in the list to avoid missendings / missorting • The acknowledgements, if any, may be attached with the parcel list concerned • Parcels, Insured bags, if any, and the parcel list are placed inside a sound and strong bag

  15. Closing of parcel bags • Parcel bag is closed with the prescribed bag label addressed to the office of destination • Closed bag is sealed with the parcel seal.

Finally • Day End is done after shift end by Operators • Print outs of following can be taken • Parcel Abstract • Consolidated Abstract • Detailed Abstract – Receipt and Despatch • INS Check Sheet • Bag Transfer Report (if any) • Bag received and closed report (if required) • Daily Report • Parcelnet communication should be executed at regular intervals
