  2. to run the company = to be in control of the company 1) Firstly we have to decide aboutthe type of company we want to run.

  3. 2) We have to check if there is a need for the service we offer in the area that we want to work in. It isa good ideato check the way that our competitionoperate. competition = a company that offer the same service

  4. 3) Where are we planning to run our company?We cannot confuse the place of company registration (e.g. our flat or house) with the place where we will give our service. Sometimes we do not need a special office or place where we will give our service. We can work in our client's house or office (e.g.plumber, insurance agent, masseur or hairdresser) the place of company registration = the address of our company

  5. a) Before we register the company, we have to go to the Job Centre and ask there for the unemployment status. Then we should ask the Town Council for the non-refundable funding. The special form can be printed from the Internet. We will find there a lot of important information about the finances of our company. 4. How to prepare our funds? unemployment status = the proof that we do not have work non-refundable = we do not have to give it back

  6. b) If we still do not have enough money (the current funding from the Town Council is 14,000 PLN), we should think about taking the loan. It is important to meet a few representatives of different banks in order to compare their offers. Thanks to those meetings we will better understand the advantages and disadvantages of credits (the biggest disadvantage is that we will have to pay the money back with interest). loan = money borrowed from a banks advantages = good points disadvantages = bad points interest = a sum that you have to payfor borrowingmoney from a bank, you pay back more moneythat you borrowed

  9. 1) If we know the type of our company and its name, we should go to the Town Council and register the company. We will get a special certificate.

  10. 2) Then we go to the Inland Revenue which gives us the special NIP number. the Inland Revenue = the government office which collects the main taxes

  11. We take the certificate from the Town Council and we go to the Central Statistical Office. We will get there the special REGON number and PKD symbol.

  12. We go to the Social Insurance in Poland in order to apply for the social insurance.The Social Insurance in Poland is the institution that collects money from us every month. This money are for: • healthcare • pensions (if we cannot work because of an accident or an illness) • our right pensions
