  3. Challenge #3 NASA Scientists and Engineers are working on a space vehicle to take astronauts to the moon, Mars, and beyond. • Space Shuttle ??? • Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV)

  4. Engineering Design Process – (Ask) What Design Must DO: • Carry people and an internal tank for holding liquids. • Size Limit {fit in container} • Carry two passengers • Have a hatch {opens & closes} for access Imagine Ask Entry Plan Improve Create Experiment

Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) • Safely carry two plastic people. • Secure seat. • Without gluing or taping them. • Sustain a 2-m Drop Test. • Include Internal holding tank for liquids {<{10cm x 2cm)} • Fit within “Rocket Compartment” {mailing tube} • Have one hatch that opens & closes. The hatch should remain shut during the 2-m Drop Test.
