Project Overview • Objective is to increase the reliability of the natural gas system serving Grand Traverse, Benzie and Leelanau Counties • Strengthen our existing service to approximately 91,000 customers across Northern Michigan. Approximately 16,750 of those customers are located in six (6) townships; Blair, East Bay, Garfield, Green Lake, and Paradise in Grand Traverse County and Inland Township in Benzie County • Project is supported by the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) to enhance system reliability to the region • Loop two existing pipelines to add a second natural gas supply source to the area to help ensure minimal customer disruptions during routine maintenance or in the event of an unlikely event of an emergency • Total approximately 22 miles in two phases • Lincoln-Traverse City Section – from Garfield Township (DTE Traverse City Gate Station) to Blair Township (Blair Interconnect); 2020 Construction • Frankfort Section – from Blair Township (DTE Frankfort Check Meter Station) to Inland Township (Leelanau City Gate Station); 2021 Construction • Use existing easements and rights of way where available • Total Investment $80M • Total estimated annual tax revenue $870,000 • Customer communication to begin April 2019 • Construction expected May 2020 – November 2021
