Overview • Purpose of TVA metadata authoring tool • To create and edit metadata compliant to the metadata specification of the TV Anytime Forum (Phase 1) • To visualize the structural and semantic aspects of metadata effectively • By incorporating XML and media handling technology • To support various kinds of inter-operations between metadata and related content • Providing convenient environments to users

Features & Functions • Based on the normative metadata specification of TV Anytime Forum • Visualization of XML-based metadata • To visualize the content of metadata in an effective way and support editing on the visualized sheet • Pure text • Template-based visualization • Tree-style visualization • Reusability • To load existing metadata to the memory device after parsing/validation and output the edited metadata in XML format • Media handling capacity • To support basic VCR functions • play, pause, fast-forward, and random access

Features & Functions • Automation • To be equipped with some automation tools for authoring segment metadata (e.g. shot boundary detection, keyframe extraction, metadata fragmentation, compression) • Real-time auditing • To audit user interaction in real-time • Compression • To save results into a valid XML document or encode as BiM stream • Archiving system • To store and search the authored metadata in the archive
