Ammunition Depot has the Ammo Needed for AR-15 Uppers

The AR-15 is far and away the most modular and versatile small arms weapon platform available for civilians (or military personnel). While the original AR-15 caliber is the .223 Remington, there are literally dozens of calibers, loads, grain-weights, styles, etc. of different cartridges that can be fired from the AR-15 platform.

  1. Ammunition Depot has the Ammo Needed for AR-15 Uppers The AR-15 is far and away the most modular and versatile small arms weapon platform available for civilians (or military personnel). While the original AR-15 caliber is the .223 Remington, there are literally dozens of calibers, loads, grain-weights, styles, etc. of different cartridges that can be fired from the AR-15 platform. Perhaps even more importantly, switching the AR-15’s functionality from the .223 Remington to one of the other calibers, for a considerable percentage of those calibers, requires little to no technical or gunsmithing expertise. All that’s necessary is switching out an upper receiver assembly (or just “upper”) for another caliber and the matching magazine. To find ammunition for those AR-variants, and a number of their uppers as well, Ammunition Depot has got you covered. Some of those AR-compatible calibers are particularly fun. .300 AAC Blackout The .300 AAC Blackout is a great caliber for a variety of different applications. It was originally developed as an AR platform cartridge with a larger bullet delivering more punch than the .223/5.56 for close-quarters combat. It’s also designed as a subsonic round, which allows for effective sound-suppression with a silencer. The larger bullet size makes the .300 AAC Blackout perfect for the mid-range takedown of mid-to-large game like wild pigs and deer. It’s also gained considerable popularity recently as a home defense solution. An AR-15 chambered for .300 AAC Blackout offers a considerably greater capacity of a powerful cartridge that, being subsonic, is less likely to over-penetrate than a .223 Remington and can be fitted with a silencer to save the eardrums of anyone forced to fire one indoors. Ammunition Depot offers a .300 AAC Blackout upper (and ammo, of course) for anyone curious about the cartridge.

  2. .22 LR While the .223 Remington is among the most popular centerfire cartridge in the country, the most popular cartridge in altogether by a huge margin is the .22 LR. In the United States alone, we shoot literally billions of them. There are a number of reasons for that. Near the top of that list, no doubt is the fact that the .22 LR ammo is significantly less expensive than other cartridges. Further contributing to their popularity is their efficacy for dependable performance with varmints and smaller game animals. A hit with a .22 LR round, if the shot placement is reasonably accurate, will reliably and cleanly take down a squirrel or rabbit or anything else of comparable size. It won’t, however, virtually destroy them or run the risk of unnecessary over- penetration. They also produce very little recoil, which makes the .22 LR a perfect caliber for teaching kids how to shoot.
