The Preamble We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

    4. Six Goals of the Constitution Form a more perfect union Establish justice Insure domestic tranquility Provide for the common defense Promote the general welfare Secure the blessings of liberty

    5. Form a more perfect union Create a better, more efficient system of government than was possible under the Articles of Confederation by working together as a single country

    6. Establish Justice Guarantee all people treated fairly under the same laws

    7. Insure Domestic Tranquility Guarantee a peaceful existence within the United States

    8. Provide for the Common Defense Guarantee an adequate defense against those who would be our enemies

    9. Promote the General Welfare Encourage what is good for ALL people Guarantee life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness Provide for the citizens of the United States

    10. Secure the blessings of liberty Guarantee our freedom and make certain that our children and our childrens children have those same freedoms.
