  3. What is Ergonomics ? • The word “Ergonomics” is derived from the Two Greek Words . The word “Ergon” means “Work And Effort” .And the Word “Noms” mean “To Study” • “Ergonomics is a way to work smarter not harder By Designing Tools , equipment , work stations and task to FitThe Job To The Worker __ Not The Worker To The Job

  5. Warning signs • Tension in back, Neck , shoulders Aching Hands Or Wrist Headaches Pressure due to Eye Strain

  6. How to set Work Station ? Properly Adjust your workstation-Monitor , keyboard , mouse, chair Etc-Do exercises - Take mini breaks

  8. Ergonomics exercisesNeck : • Head roll • Head turns Gently lower ear to shoulder and hold for 10 seconds. Slowly roll chin to chest and up to other shoulder and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat several times Turn head to look over left shoulder and hold for 10 seconds. Turn head the other way and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat several times.

  9. Chin tucks • Raise the head to straighten the neck. Tuck the chin in and upwards creating a double chin. This also results in a forward tilt of the head. Hold for 10 seconds and repeat several times.

  10. Shoulders • Stretch arm above head, cradle elbow with hand and gently pull elbow behind the head. Hold for 10 seconds and repeat several times. • Circle shoulders forward several times, then backward. Repeat 3 to 5 times.

  11. Wrists, hands and arms • Interlace fingers, palms outward, and straighten arms in front. Hold for 10 seconds and repeat several times

  12. Upper and lower back • Interlace fingers and turn palms upward above head straighten arms then slowly lean slightly from side to side. Repeat movement several times.

  13. Legs • Hold onto the chair with hands either side. Straighten leg and lift foot a few centimeters off floor. Rotate foot and ankle both ways (point toes up) and extend (point toes down). Repeat several times per foot.

  14. Eye Exercise • Start this exercise in a comfortable position. First, rub your palms together to create a bit of heat. Next, take your hands and press them over your (closed) eyes. Put your left hand on your left eye and right hand on your right eye. Let the heat warm your eyes and relax for a few minutes like this. Blink fast your eyes as you can for a few second and then close eye tightly , repeat 3 to 4 time a day Close your eyes and thinks natural and fresh things like mountain , beach , flowers and trees.
