Adjective as Predicate • She |ispretty. • That movie |is interesting. • That person | is tall. 她 | 很漂亮。 那个电影 | 很有意思。 那个人 | 很高。
Adjective as Predicate (2) • She |isnotpretty. • That movie |is not interesting. • That person | is not tall. 她 | 不漂亮。 那个电影 |没有意思。 那个人 |不高。
English to Chinese Translation • Keep the word order. • If the sentence is affirmative, replace “to be” with “很”. ex: Your home ispretty. 你们家{很}漂亮。 • If the sentence is negative, take out “to be”. ex: My home isnot big. 我家{不}大。
