Improving the present situation 1 • Safety => should remain the true N°1 priority, better occurrence reporting system, just culture , EASA • ETF and the staff are committed to safety • Environment => implement FABs through cooperation model, Eurocontrol network management. • The ATM is far from being the only contributor in this domain (manufacturers, airports, airlines) Public Hearing on SES II EESC, Brussels, May 31, 2011

  7. Improving the present situation 2 • Cost => the trend is good despite difficulties. Efforts have to be pursued. However, the economic performance is not about cost reduction. It is about cost efficiency. • Delays => 2010 saw increased delays because of volcano and industrial actions. • Strikes could have been avoided with good social dialogue at all levels (ANSP, FAB, European). • Human factor => let’s take it as seriously as the other areas and, as a result, everything will improve.
