So Many Names: Same addiction • White table sugar or sucrose: refined sugar of cane or beet plant. • Strip down all the fiber, vitamins and minerals. • Not nourishing just filling us with empty • Refined Carbohydrate v Complex Carbohydrate. • What happens when body has a bagel:
SUGAR WITHOUT A JOB GETS INTO TROUBLE • MAJOR DISEASES LINKED TO SUGAR: • Heart Disease: causes inflammation • Cancer: dormant cancer cells are fed with sugar • Obesity: sugar that has no where to go makes fat its home. • Insulin Blocks Glucagon • Diabetes: burning out your insulin receptors: blindness, circulation problems.
12 TIPS TO DEALING WITH SUGAR ADDICTION: • Drink Water • Reduce or eliminate caffeine • Eat sweet veggies and fruit • Get more sleep • Evaluate the amount of animal food you eat • Eliminate fat-free or low-fat foods • Experiment with spices
12 TIPS CONTINUED… • Get physical activity • Chew your food • Eat balanced meals of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats • Create new post meal rituals • Slow down & find sweetness in non-food ways
