Industrial Water Treatment Plants – Balance of Plant Systems MEMBRANE-TECHNOLOGY BASED LARGE SCALE WATER TREATMENT PLANT IN TISZAÚJVÁROS IN HUNGARYCLIENT:TVK Hungary’s Largest Chemical Company Energy Technology Division • Project background • Tiszai Vegyi Kombinát Rt (TVK), Hungary’s largest chemical company and its only polyolefine producer is located at North-East Hungary near the Tisza river. The company that accounts for more than 20 per cent of the petrochemical capacity of Central Eastern Europe is the largest industrial heat and salt-free water consumer of Hungary. To cover the increasing water demand of the company – including that of its embedded power plant - and to substitute the existing obsolete water treatment plant, a new 3x150 m3/h capacity water treatment facility has been decided to be built based on current state-of-the-art membrane technology. Balance of Plant Package EGI Contracting Engineering supplied the following complete package of the systems: • Raw Water System • Raw wateris obtained fromthe Tisza river and from return condensate • Coarse filters • 500 m3 raw water tank • The entering raw water flow is controlled by the level in the raw water tank. Industrial Water Treatment Plants • ZeeWeed® Ultra-filtration System • Three separate filter lines • Membranes are built into thermal insulated containers • Each ultra-filtration line consists of 8 assemblies membrane cassettes with 208 membrane elements

Industrial Water Treatment Plants – Balance of Plant Systems MEMBRANE-TECHNOLOGY BASED LARGE SCALE WATER TREATMENT PLANT IN TISZAÚJVÁROS IN HUNGARYCLIENT:TVK Hungary’s Largest Chemical Company Energy Technology Division • Reverse Osmosis System • Three separate lines • 21 pressure vesselsmake a line • Each line has 84 spiral-wound thin-layer composite membranes(KOCH) • system operates with 75% recovery Industrial Water Treatment Plants • Final polishing system(Mixed-bed ion exchangers) • Heated 3000 m3 storage tank • Five parallel - connected mixed bed ion exchangers • Production volume of each of the mixed-bed ion exchangers is 6300 m3 • Plant auxiliary control system • Local and field instruments for the scope of supply • PLC and PC based control system
