State Budget Update • 2008-2010 Budget Shortfall of $41,600,000,000 ($14.8 = 2008-09) • Balanced approach to solving the problem • Spending Reductions - $17.4 Billion • New Revenues - $14.3 • Sales tax increase 1.5% • Sales tax on “services” • Increase tax on alcoholic drinks • Increase vehicle registration fees • Reducing the dependent exemption credit

Communications Center Operations • New radio infrastructure almost complete to support patrol operations on CEC campus • Anticipated completion date February 1st 2009 • New back end equipment as well as console equipment to drive the system • New Computer Aide Dispatch and Records Management system installed and deployed • Taking 9-1-1 calls from CEC campus since January 2008 • Taking wireless 9-1-1 calls from T-Mobile subscribers on ECC campus only • Adding a third dispatch workstation • Will support camera monitoring & campus alarm monitoring • Center processed 44,842 telephone calls in 2008 • Includes both 10 digit (i.e. 310-660-3100) and 9-1-1 lines
