  3. Spatial Challenge The SLA Spatial Challenge is an initiative of the Singapore Land Authority aimed at encouraging the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology in Schools. What is GIS? Geographic Information System is a collection of hardware (e.g. satellites, computers, and GPS), software, and geographic information (e.g. maps, satellite images). It is used to collect, store and analyze spatially referenced data, or data that refers to or is linked to a location.

  5. Introduction • EasyMove@SG • A one-stop map application • Provides • Spatial information • Customized services, features and functions • Leverage on geospatial technologies - implemented on OneMap platform

Our Objectives • To develop an application that allows mobility impaired users to get to the destinations with ease and efficiency. • To digitize their lifestyles to improve living conditions and daily living activities. • To allow the mobility impaired users to plan their journey in advance. • To locate the list of friendliness buildings that provides accessible facilities such as Accessible Lifts, Wheelchair Stair Lift, Accessible Toilets etc. Help integrate them into the society better!

  7. Selling Point It is timely as Singapore is moving towards a barrier-free environment. It is soon mandatory for buildings to include universal design features to meet all needs. Only $6Million has been used out of a $40 Million accessibility fund while $2.5 Million worth of grants is being processed!

  10. Problems Encountered • Unfamiliarity with ArcGIS Desktop Software. • Unable to get the friendly feature dataset from the respective organization(s). • Limited datasets given by SLA.

Future Enhancements • Publish photo to share with others user. • E.g.: Reporting a case of damaged friendly feature • Post reviews to share their experience • E.g.: Link to Facebook or Twitter • Comparison between 2 amenities that user selected • E.g.: Comparison by reviews • Real – Time voice navigation systemE.g.: Voice output of route toward destination • Schedule of Wheelchair accessible buses
