  1. Economic growth “cannot continue” Is economical growth or human development possible under projected conditions? Vs. Does humanity should simply maintain the existed models? Can it progress further?

  2. BBC News-Climate change cause conflict • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jh40MMl4rMM • Africa • Asia • Middle East

  3. Kyoto Protocol and Copenhagen Conference 2009 • Rising consumption of natural resources raised environmental concerns, and lead international parties to point out the importance and the issues related. • Kyoto Protocol (an attempt) promotes the greenhouse gas emission reduction especially in industrial, developing or already developed countries • Copenhagen Conference takes the issue further; • Address a solution by taking global responsibility

  4. World’s fastest developing economies (cause fastest rising of gas emissions) • Brazil • China • India • South Africa • It is a fact that, rising industries, rising economies, consume policies has caused eco-debt, however some states remain hesitant towards the issues…

  5. Concerned think-thanks • Global Footprint Network- US-based think-thank • The New Economics Foundation- UK-based think-thanks (Nef) ; • Aims for a better model of wealth through “equality, diversity and economic stability” Free-market think-thank (Tom Clougherty- executive director of Adam Smith Institute)

  6. Nef (The New Economics Foundation) • “We urgently need to change our economy to live within its environmental budget” • “No existing model or policies could “square the circle” of economic growth with climate safety.” • However, new policies can make a difference…Environmentalist and Humanitarian approaches for better form life for humanity.

  7. Vs. Tom Clougherty (disagreement) • “Nef’s report exhibits a lack of understanding of economies and indeed, human development” • “It is precisely this economic growth which will lift the poor out of poverty and improve the environmental standards that really matter to people-like clean air and water-in the process, as it has done throughout human history”

  8. Conclusion: • Globalization; integration of policies, societies, economies… • Globalization, requires an understanding of being one..being truly part of the globe.. • Globalization requires global responsibilities and universal laws that protect not just us but humanity, not just our economy but global economy… • China, Brazil, S.Africa and Indian contributed $ 10 billion dollars to help poor nation as the part of the plan (globalization)
