  5. A Club Publicity Strategy • Create a small committee • Focus on the results of your clubs efforts • Communicate with public & media • Build relationships with local media • Follow up, Follow up, Follow up 

  6. Create a Small Committee • Publicity Chair (Press Releases) • Website/Bulletin Editor • Social Media Editor (In Meeting) • Social Media Editor (Programs) • Social Media Editor (Special Events) • Photographer (Sergeant-at-Arms) • Designer (Member or Vendor)

  7. Focus on Results • New Generations: Scholarships, RYLA, Interact • Vocational Service: Business/Employee of the Year • Club Service: Rotarian of the Year • International Service: Building Bathrooms in a South African school • Community Service: New drinking fountain at a park

Communicate with Public & Media • Public (Facebook & Twitter) • Weekly: Programs, Club newsletter, Meeting highlights • Monthly: Special events, Scholarships, Special Speakers/Programs, Gifts • Media (Phone, Email, Facebook & Twitter) • Monthly: Scholarships, Special Speakers/Programs, All Gifts with Photos • Quarterly: Large gifts, Community & International Projects

Build Relationships w/ Local Media • Ask your membership who can introduce you to news directors THEN call them and take them to lunch • Provide Press Releases via email & twitter • Comment and converse with local news media on facebook and twitter • Have members who have strong relationship with media submit your news releases

  10. Follow up, Follow up, Follow up • Send your release to news media • Call the person to make sure they received it • Ask them if they can run your story/release • Follow up with a thank you for running • The squeaky wheel gets the grease!
