  21. New developed “Brighter System” 21

  22. New developed “Brighter System” In Brighter Mode the 580nm and the 680nm peaks reach the R-LCD. In Standard mode the 580nm peak is cut by a filter, only the 680nm peak reaches the R-LCD. 22

  23. New developed “Brighter System” The characteristic of the Dichoric Mirror R and the Mirror for Red was changed to allow the 580nm peak to pass the D Mirror or to be reflected by the Mirror for red 23

  24. New developed “Brighter System” For a correct white projection in Brighter Mode electronic compensation is needed. The blue component has to be increased. Compensation for the green component is not needed. An increase of the blue component means the B-LCD panel “opens”. 24

  25. New developed “Brighter System” Use the Brighter mode in situations where Brightness is more important than Color Quality, for example for data projection in a brightly lit room. If the color tones are most important, for examples during video or image projections, use standard mode. In Brighter Mode especially the red colors are projected in an orange tone. 25

  26. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 • The Digitizer DP10/11 is a powerful presentation tool that provides: • Mouse functions • Drawing functions • Pointing and Marking functions 26

  27. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 • Main features of the Digitizer: • Usable with any screen • High precision • Easy to install • Low-Cost • Any Directional Pointing 27

  28. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 • Main features of the Digitizer(2): • Designed for Windows 9x • Screen size 45” to 100” • Communication distance 1.6m to 3.6m 28

  29. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 Install the software by running the setup program and do the adjustment 29

  30. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 Signal receiver: Two optical CCD line sensors use X and Y axis position sensing to provide high precision pointer position detection. Mouse Click function is detected by 4 Photo Diodes 30

  31. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 Signal Emitter The signal emitter is equipped with four LED’s spaced at 90° intervals. A 500kHz carrier wavelengths is used to avoid interference with ordinary remote controllers (about 40kHz). 31

  32. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 Mounting: The receiver can be attached to the Projectors with two screws. When using a hanging projector set Dip switches SW4 and SW5 to 0 Note: The use of the Digitizer with a hanging projector is possible, but not supported by Canon Inc. 32

  33. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 Precautions for use: Turn off the pointer’s power switch whenever the pointer is not in use. Other infrared emitting devices may cause interference and mistaken operation. Avoid use in direct sunlight or with infrared generating devices (wireless mouse/keyboard, remote controllers, OHP’s, PDP’s……..) 33

  34. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 Service Issues: The Digitizer uses a special 4bit Microchip which is available only in a limited amount. Canon Inc. considers recycling of this chip. Difference between DP10 and DP11 The only difference between DP10 and DP11the bottom cover. 34

  35. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 Receiver Specifications: Resolution: 0.254mm=0.1” (at 209cm distance) Sampling rate: over 25 points/second Interface: RS-232C Operating environment: 5-35°C; 5-35%RH Weight: 650g/655g 35

  36. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 Pointer Specifications: Light emitter: 4 x NIR LED (870nm) Buttons: right and left click mouse button Indicators: Red/green LED with voltage warning Power Source: 2 x AA alkaline batteries Operating time: Approximately 5 hours Weight: 125g 36

  37. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 Driver Specifications: Type: Windows mouse type driver User settings: port selection, calibration, double click setting, offset Transmission Speed: 19200bps System requirements: Pentium 100MHz CPU or better Win95 with 16MB or more Win98 with 32MB or more 37

  38. The Digitizer Tool DP10/DP11 The Drawing Software: With the drawing software it is possible to draw simple pictures, underline or mark text. 38

  39. Time to play and Time for a coffee! 39

  40. Disassembly/Re-assembly Disassemble only LV 7325/7320 3 Machines -> 3 Groups Use Paper copies, Service Manual is not complete. Be careful! Projectors still have famous Sanyo electronic design. Don’t mix up connectors and cables! 40

  41. Optical Adjustments: Do the Convergence, Contrast and Integrator Lens adjustment as described on page 23, 24 & 25 in the LV-7325 Service Manual. 41

  42. Electronic Adjustments: Do the adjustments as described on page 27-31 in the LV-7325 Service Manual, except the MCI Adjustments. After finishing all adjustments check the white brightness. If the brightness is to high change Data No.48 (Video Gain). 42

  43. Explanation of Electronic Adjustments: Video Center Adjustment - Adjust the LCD drive Voltage to 7.3V NRS Adjustment - Adjust the LCD response time S/H Clock Adjustment - Small Signal generated by black & green stripes. If the value reaches the maximum adjust the pattern to best quality. 43

  44. White Uniformity Adjustment Due to unevenness in the LCD production an unbalanced white uniformity might occur. 44

  45. White Uniformity Adjustment For the White Uniformity Adjustment the picture is divided in 208 fields. With Data No. 77 you can select the Y-coordinate, with Data No.78 the X-coordinate. With Data No. 79-81 you can adjust the R, G and Y component of the selected field. An Adjustment Software will be shipped with the Service Manual. Currently only the Japanese version is available. 45

  46. White Uniformity Adjustment The White Uniformity Adjustment for the LV7525 can be done with the control panel. With the up, down, left , right arrow you can select the adjustment area, with the select button the component and with the Volume+, Volume- button the Value. There will be no Adjustment Software for the LV7525. 46
