  2. Student Q & A Supporting Local Economy Q: What is the new proposed senior privilege? A: To allow seniors to leave during lunch. Q: Would there be any requirements for the students to be able to leave? A: Yes, there would be. A student would have to receive a GPA of 2.7 or higher, have a clear disciplinary record, and have a signed liability form from their parent(s)/ legal guardian. Q: Is this senior privilege for the students’ own benefit or for an actual purpose? A: What a great question! Typically, you would believe that leaving during lunch for a senior privilege is for their own benefit, but there is a deeper meaning which is to teach the young adults self-management. Self- management is a vital skill for a young adults future and leaving during lunch will help them learn this by teaching them to be timely, responsible, thoughtful and so on. Presently, school prepares students for everything, but this. Additionally, by eating out at lunch, students can support the local businesses which is important for the town’s economy Q: Since students will be eating off campus, how will this effect the school lunches? A: Lunches would be longer and shorten to only three lunches. Q: How will the students be able to reenter the building? A: On their student ID card, they will have a barcode that will be scanned for reentry. Q: Who will make sure students qualify under the requirements? A: The process will be similar to senior parking and will happen at the end of every quarter. Things to do in 30 minutes • Get a tan at the NK Town Beach • Eat a bagel at Bagelz • Buy your best friend a present at Green River • Drink extra large coffee from Jitter’s Cafe • Window Shop on West Main Street • Eat a Beach Rose Salad • Eat a dessert at the Pastry Gourmet • Deposit your paycheck at the bank • Get a manicure at Universal Nails Students were happy to ask questions.
