  5. Where do bats live? • Caves • Dark places • Hot places • Bat habitats • Rock piles • Trees • Every continent except Antartica

  6. How do bats take care of their babies? • Mother makes a basket • When bats are 3 months old they go on hunting trips • 1 year old = adult • Bats gather to make a nursery for the babies

  7. What are the different kinds and sizes of bats? • 1000 different kinds of bats • Smallest bat is 5 in. • Biggest bat is the flying fox, it’s wing span is 5ft.

  8. How do bats use sound? • Echolocation • Bounce echoes to find insects • Can’t see well at night
