Objectives • Ensure the accuracy of patient identification. • Enhance the security of patient privacy.. Actions Taken • Implementation of Automatic Dispatching System for NEATS Portering Service – Porter would receive the name of patient via ADS (Pager) so that they could check the patient identification by the name of patient. • Provision of recyclable nylon bags – all patient’s record, drug and X-ray film could be put into the nylon bags so as to avoid mixing up of patient’s record. Patient information could be well-protected at the same time. • Provision of gum label – Porter would write down the patient name on gum label and stick on the luggage of patient so as to avoid wrong luggage to wrong patient. • In conclusion「煎釀三寶」are used, which include pager, nylon bag and gum label. Outcomes • Reduced the chance of wrong patient identification. • Reduced chance of wrong luggage. • Increased patient privacy.
