The 2016 APGA Annual Convention The 2016 APGA Annual Convention The 48th Annual Convention of the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association (APGA) will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 8 to 11 October 2016 and will cover a range of issues under the title: Australia’s Pipeline Industry: Sustainability | Knowledge | Innovation. This Call for Papers includes a request for presentations covering major (or smaller) projects, opportunities and developments in the industry. Presentation topics can include but are not restricted to: n natural gas and energy policies n gas markets n construction challenges n coal seam gas n international industry n research n regulatory developments. n safety n training and skills development n operational and maintenance issues n environmental issues n technical regulation n water, slurry, waste transportation APGA’s Annual Convention brings together participants from all sectors of the pipeline industry as well as other industries that are associated with natural gas and the transportation of energy, slurry and water. This major annual industry event provides excellent information in the business sessions, and the social events allow for extensive networking opportunities. The Australian pipeline industry is respected worldwide and APGA’s broad membership base provides knowledge and information that is being transferred to the next generation of experts. The business sessions will include papers covering pipeline operations, project updates, training, research, environmental challenges and safety issues. It is also expected that gas policy and gas markets will be increasingly topical at this time, generating much interest and debate about the role of the transmission sector and the challenges of gas supply for the domestic market. The APGA Annual Convention is an opportunity to present forward-thinking and practical ideas that stimulate discussion and debate and give guidance to the industry as it prepares for the future.
