The business case for employers • 80% employers = workplace more productive. • 81% consumers favour using a company which takes on apprentices. • 88% employers = lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce. • 83% employers = rely on apprenticeships to provide the skilled workers that they need for the future. • One in five employers are hiring more apprentices to help them through the tough economic climate • Trained and tutored to your standards 2

  6. The new deal • Employed from Day 1 • Employers who take on a 16-18 year old apprentice only pay their salary. • 19-24: 50% of training costs publicly funded 3

  7. How does it work • National Minimum Wage for apprentices is £2.50 per hour and average salary is approx £170 per week 3 • 8 main frameworks in our sector • Fitness Instructing, Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise • Combination of basic, technical and broader skills and competences
