  4. 2. Artifacts What do you want to show in your portfolio? Resume Use your best work Variety Easy file formats (PDFs)

Artifacts: Writing Samples elements to include where to find them Internships Summer jobs Campus jobs/activities Coursework Volunteer your services for a non-profit Join the staff of the Beacon KEEP EVERYTHING YOU WRITE Newsletters Press releases Flyers Brochures Fact sheets Advertising copy Feature articles Websites Surveys/research Campaigns Proposals

  7. 4. Structure What do you want on your site? Make sure site is easy to navigate. Important information should only a few clicks away!

  11. Resume Page Just like paper resume Keep current Include downloadable version (PDF) Could be hyperlinked To previous employers Examples of work within site
  12. Portfolio Show diversity in work Keep current Include friendly, downloadable version PDFs Google Docs Make it easy for visitors to access content
  13. 5. Create & Maintain Keep info current! Watch for broken links. If the purpose of your portfolio changes, update your site accordingly. Domain names often have to be renewed every few years.
