The size of Mercury • Mercurys diameter is 4879 kilometres while Earth’s diameter is 12,756 kilometres • Mercury is just a bit larger than Earth’s moon • Mercury is now the smallest planet because Pluto is no longer an ordinary planet • Mercury’s diameter is 1404 kilometre more than the Moon’s diameter • Mercury may have fooled many people into thinking that it was the moon but they could tell that it wasn’t because it is a bit bigger than the moon and its an orangey colour
