  2. Agenda • Demonstration Considerations • Mobile Demonstration • Kofax Front Office Server Overview • Kofax Mobile Capture Overview • Creating a Mobile Capture Demo

  3. Kofax Value • Kofax Front Office Server extends existing business processes to customer-facing employees. By simply dropping documents into an MFP feeder, they can initiate transactions, workflows and capture processes at the earliest point of contact. • Kofax Mobile Capture turns a smart phone or tablet into a sophisticated scanning device which not only captures a document, but also cleans it. With this, field representatives or customers themselves can capture documents, photos and data to initiate critical business processes at the earliest point in the process.

  19. Installation

  20. KC User Profiles • Kofax Capture User Profiles must be enabled before you can use KFS and KMC. • Active Directory linked profiles can also be used

  21. KFS - Important Tabs

  22. Devices • Mobile Devices will show up here as they self register • Check here if a device is activated and change as needed

  23. Shortcuts| Case Types • Links to Kofax batch classes and form types • Shortcuts are Case Types on the Mobile device • Shortcuts can be configured to hide or show existing index fields • Scan settings are configured in the shortcut

  24. Scan Settings • DPI settings used to scale down the image • VRS Image Cleanup Settings

  25. Notifications • Notifications can be configured to send an email to a user or a group in the event one of the following conditions: • Successful Completion (Sent when KC Exports the batch) • Successful Cancellation (Sent when a batch is deleted from KC) • In-Process Status (Sent after a batch passes between queues in KC) (An email is sent after every in-process queue) • In-Process Error (Sent when a batch is sent to QC in error)

  26. Configuration Settings • This is where the global preferences are setup • MFP Self Registration must be enabled

  27. Kofax Front Office Server Configuration • KFS must have “Enable MFP Self registration” selected • Images from mobile devices will not be processed by VRS on the KFS server. • KFS Shortcuts (called “Case Types” on mobile) are obtained by the mobile application. • KFS “Scan Time Image Process” setting will be sent to the phone.

  28. Auto Launch with Custom URL • Auto Launch feature allows KMC to automatically open and pre-fill index fields for an existing case • The custom URL begins with kmc://? (there is no domain, port or path after the slashes) • Use Case: Trailing Documents

  29. Auto Launch with Custom URL continued • The custom path can contain the following three names Note The case type with the correct fields must exist on the device to launch with a URL. So, the user must have logged in to KFS and that user must have access to the case type.

  30. Auto Launch with Custom URL Examples • kmc://?case_name=Insurance%20Claim • This will just open a new case with case type of “Insurance Claim” • kmc://?do_capture_and_process_images=false&case_name=Insurance%20Claim&case_field=PolicyNum|12345&case_field=Insuree|John%20Smith • This will open the “enter case information” screen for the Insurance Claim case since the do_capture_and_process_images is false. • kmc://?case_name=Insurance%20Claim&case_field=PolicyNum|12345&case_field=Insuree|John%20Smith • This behavior is similar to the previous example but it will use the default application settings since none was defined

  31. KFS Requirements • Kofax Capture 9 or 10 • Windows 2008 • User Profiles needs to be enabled in Kofax Capture • Ports Available on KFS Server • 80 (Incoming) for Admin, Thin Client and Browser based applications • 443 (Incoming) for SSL • 1434 (Outgoing) if using SQL Server • 1521 (Outgoing) if using Oracle • 5353 (Outgoing) for Bonjour (discovering devices) • 8888 (Outgoing) Network connection to certain MFP’s
