  1. NPG3 NPG4 NPG1 NPG2 Scanned particles and areas • Scanned particles are labeled. Scanned areas are marked by red boxes. • P13 and P14 were scanned to get closer to NPG1, so that a relatively precise position can be calculated. Scan on P13 4x4 um P 14 P 13 Scan on P13 & P14 4x4 um

  2. Scanned particles and areas P7 • Particles scanned in order: P13, P14, P1 (w/ indent), P15 (can not see), P16 (can not see), P3 (w/ indent), P7 (w/ indent). P2 P3 P 17 P1 P 15 P 16

  3. 20x 40x Optical – PostIndent

  4. P7 P2 P3 P 17 P1 P 15 P 16 SEM 5/29/2009 • No indication of defects in SEM images • P15 and P16 have both moved, explains lack of imaging • Red outline shows intended indent

  5. Load-displacement curve It is interesting that the loads on grid with particles are lower than the loads on blank grid. This is different from what we saw last time.

  6. Indent P1 Expected indentation location • Scanned lower part of P1 twice. Scanned area 1st scan, can not judge position. 2x2 um 2nd scan 2x2 um
