Real Time Traffic and traveller Information • RTTI • Identify and remove the obstacles for European-wide implementation of RTTI services - 80 % of all journeys served with adequate, standardised services by 2010 • RDS/TMC - Longer term: advanced technologies for broadcasting and communications

  17. eCall • MoU signed by 43 authorities and industries from BE, DE, IT, UK, FR, SE, FI, GR, NL, HU, ES, CH, NO, and US. • Finland has launched a national eCall pilot and presented this to European Experts 15 April 2005. • Germany and the Netherlands are planning the implementation of E112 to visualise the location of the incident both at the PSAP and in the emergency vehicles. • Sweden has launched their plan for introduction of eCall and incentives will be investigated. • Hungary, UK, Denmark, and Spain are preparing activities.

National eSafety RTD Activities • TRAFFIMATICS – UK Funded by DTI – Next Wave programme Telematics platform, consisting of both mobile nodes, (e.g. the cars) and fixed hot-spot nodes (e.g. at petrol stations or traffic lights). This will support cost effective telematics applications such as traffic monitoring, dynamic routing and information services. http://www.dti.gov.uk/
