  1. Mission Effectiveness Project • The Mission Effectiveness Project (MEP) began in 2005 and is designed to replace aging systems on board select ships to improve reliability, reduce future maintenance costs, and meet required mission hours. The project is intended to eliminate problems associated with obsolete and unsupportable equipment and systems. • Each MEP cutter’s modernization is intended to maintain mission effectiveness until replacement of new assets are delivered and are operational. Without the benefit of MEP, the legacy fleet would continue to operate with excessive engineering casualties and reduced operational mission hours. • The MEP project accounts for 80% of the Yard’s annual workload. • Timely delivery is the goal of every MEP cutter. To date, the Yard has completed seven 270’ cutters, five 210’ cutters, and six 110’ cutters under the Mission Effectiveness Project. KEY LARGO on East Wall
