  1. CATH-TECH™ GPS Synchronized Current Interrupters

  2. World Class GPS Current Interrupters

  3. Six Models To Chose From • 15 Amp DC (Mini) • 25 Amp AC or DC • 50 AmpDC 25 Amp AC • 100 Amp DC or AC • 200 Amp DC or AC • 75 Amp 3 Phase 600 volt The Mini Interrupter

  4. CATH-TECH GPS Interrupters • Come complete with Rugged all copper cables and safety connectors, battery charger, GPS engine and antenna and operation manual housed in a rugged plastic case CI-100 100 Amp Current Interrupter

  5. GPS Synchronization The Global positioning System (GPS) satellites broadcast a timing signal every second with a precision of 365 nanoseconds. This timing signal is used by the Cath-Tech™ current interrupters for utmost interruption accuracy.

  6. The Global Positioning System • 24 Satellites • 6 Orbital Planes • 4 Satellites per Plane • 20,200 Km Altitude • 55 Degree Inclination • Timing accuracy 365 nanoseconds

  7. Connecting the GPS Interrupter • Turn on the Cath-Tech™ GPS current interrupter • Turn OFF the AC power and connect the interrupter to the rectifier • Place antenna on top of the rectifier case • Turn ON the rectifier Installing a GPS Current Interrupter

  8. Programming the GPS Interrupter • Turn on the CATH-TECH™ GPS Synchronized current interrupter, by pressing the upper yellow key or the reset button. • When the CATH-TECH™ powers up it displays the main menu for approximately 15 seconds. • If the “C” key is not pressed or communication established within 15 seconds the current interrupter goes into operation

  9. Main Menu The Main Menu • E = Program • I = OFF • 0 = RS232 • C = GPS Power GPS ON/OFF

  10. Rectifier OFF Time • Enter the rectifier OFF time in milliseconds. C = Change N = Next (1 ms = 1/1000 seconds) The entered time must be devisable into 60

  11. Interruption Cycle Time • Enter the interruption cycle in seconds. • To change the interruption cycle press C for change to toggle through the available interruption cycles. (The cycle time is the sum of the OFF and ON times)

  12. Interruption Start Time • Enter the interruption start time using GMT or UCT time (24 hour Clock) hh = Hour 00 to 24 mm = minutes 00 to 59

  13. Interruption Stop Time • Enter the interruption stop time using GMT or UCT time (24 hour clock) hh = Hour 00 to 24 mm = minutes 00 to 59

  14. Interruption Start Date • Enter the interruption start date. mm = Month (January = 01) dd = Day of Month

  15. Interruption Stop Date • Enter the interruption stop date. mm = Month (January = 01) dd = Day of Month • Additional Programs • After completion of the program entries for the first program the current interrupter asks if you need additional programs. • If you answer “Y = Yes” 4 more programs will be displayed. IF no the unit goes to operation.

  16. Interrupter Operating Screen • After completion of the programming the CATH-TECH™ GPS synchronized current interrupter searches for the GPS satellites and when it has acquired a minimum of 4 satellites it displays the correct date and time and the latitude and longitude of the interrupters location and starts operating.

  17. Programming From a PC • All CATH-TECH™ GPS synchronized current interrupters can be programmed from a PC using the RS232 port. • A 9 pin Female/Female null modem cable is required for communication

  18. Programming From a PC • Use Windows Hyper- Terminal to down load your data. • A 9 pin D Female/Female null modem cable is needed to connect the Current Interrupter to the Com port on the PC

  19. Programming From a PC • Open Hyper terminal and make a new connection • Name the new connection Current Interrupter • Select a desk top icon

  20. Programming From a PC • Set Hyper-Terminal for: • Direct to Com 1 ( if this is your Com Port)
