  2. Editorial • Definition- article in a periodical presenting the opinion of the editors. • Sentence- The paper published an editorial strongly criticizing the mayor’s actions.

  3. Hesitation • Definition- delay due to uncertainty of mind or fear. • Sentence- One moments hesitation on my part, and the elusive butterfly was lost to me forever.

  4. Incredulous • Definition- indicating or showing unbelief. • Sentence- She listened to his explanation with an incredulous smile.

  5. Nonchalantly • Definition- coolly unconcerned. • Sentence- He was surprisingly nonchalant about winning the award.

  6. Rebellious • Definition- defying or resisting some established authority, government, or tradition. • Sentence- The rebellious troops fought a pitched battle with divisions still loyal to the government.

  7. Rivalry • Definition- the action, position, or relation of rival or rivals; competition. • Sentence- There is a bitter rivalry between the two groups.

  8. Sarcasm • Definition- harsh or bitter derision or irony. • Sentence- I know your not happy, but there is no need to resort to petty sarcasms to make your point.

  9. Sympathetic • Definition- compassionate. • Sentence- He received much help from sympathetic friends.

  10. Unfathomable • Definition- unbelievable. • Sentence- His behavior is completely unfathomable.
