  1. Psalms 117 1Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.2For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.

  3. A thankful spirit is one of the key distinguishing marks of a Christian.  Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His lovingkindness is everlasting. (Psalms 118:1)

  4. I. The Benefits Of A Grateful Spirit 1. Being grateful will increase your personalhappiness

  5. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)

  6. 2. Being grateful can improve your influence for Christ. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. (I Peter 2:12)

  7. 3. Being grateful will improve everyrelationship. First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world. (Romans 1:8)

  8. I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus. (I Corinthians 1:4) • do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers. (Ephesians 1:16)

  9. I thank my God in all my remembrance of you. (Philippians 1:3) • We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you. (Corinthians 1:3)

  10. 4. Being grateful can strengthen your relationship with God Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. (Hebrews 12:28)

  12. II. Ways To Develop Thankful Lives 1. Remember, EverythingWeHave Is From God! • The earth is the LORD’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it. (Psalms 24:1)

  13. For who regards you as superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it? (I Corinthians 4:7)

  14. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights,with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. (James 1:17)

  15. 2. Avoid Complaining When I remember God, then I am disturbed; when I sigh, then my spirit grows faint. (Psalms 77:3)

  16. Complaining is the archenemyof thanksgiving! for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13)

  17. 3. Develop the Daily Discipline of GivingThanks Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father. (Ephesians 5:19&20)

  18. Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously. (Daniel 6:10)
