Podium PCs • CT maintains 80 generally scheduled classroom PCs • Image is updated as needed; generally once a year • Reimaging occurs during semester breaks • Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit • Standard software suite, including: • Adobe Reader • Office 2010 • TurningPoint • Browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome • A full list of software is available upon request

  3. Podium PCs • PCs are accessed with ARGONET credentials • H: and I: drives mapped at login • USB access provided for flash drives/advancers • eDesktop(virtual computer lab) accessible • Rooms with SMART Podiums also have SMART Notebook and Tools installed

  4. Software Updates • Critical updates delivered through UWF Windows Update server • Flash, Java updated at least monthly via GPO • Other software updated via GPO • Major software changes addressed with reimage • CT consults with the Help Desk for any incompatibility issues before pushing updates

  5. Support/Troubleshooting • Help Desk uses remote tools to access the classroom system, including the lectern PCs • CT maintains an inventory of spare parts for classroom support • CT keeps several spare PCs up and running on the bench so they are being updated • A replacement Lectern PC can be up and running in a matter of minutes in the event of a failure • CT uses the classroom schedule to coordinate maintenance operations around scheduled classes • All podiums have laptop connections (VGA) and newer digital rooms have HDMI and VGA connections

  6. Classroom Technology Orientation • Orientation sessions conducted at the beginning of Fall and Spring semesters • As-needed training for Summer semester • One-on-one or refresher training is available anytime; contact the Help Desk to arrange a time • Quick Start Guides available at the podium and on the Classroom Technology website
