Relationships – Building positive connections with people provides a wide safety    net for those who dare to reach for great things.Enthusiasm – Energy and excitement fuel success.Self Discipline – The person who can control themselves is in position to push  harder towards great achievement.Diligence – Never quit, never give up, learn from your mistakes and grow, keep  picking yourself up and you will never fail.Character – It is our choices that ultimately decide who we are far more than our  ability.  Ability is what you are able to do, but character determines what you  ultimately accomplish. 9th Grade

  3. “The greatest differences in the K-12 organizational cultures exist in the gap between middle school and high school. • Pre-school feels like kindergarten • 5th grade feels like 6th grade • The Senior year is similar to being a Freshman in college but….. The 8th grade is nothing like the 9th grade!” Jay Hertzog on a quote from Whitefish Bay Schools, Wis.

  4. What Are The Major Differences in 8th Grade and 9th Grade? • Size of the Campus. • Scheduling & Class Changes: Students are scheduled individually instead of in teams. • Academic Competition: Students compete for GPA & Class Ranking for College entrance & Scholarship money. • Classroom Expectations: Different system of instruction, rules & expectations. • May be in some classes with older students. • Discipline policy often includes more severe consequences. • Often parents become less involved than they were in elementary and middle levels.
